Established in 1980, Heather Candles is well known for its line of beautiful handcrafted pressed flower candles. Using natural materials grown on the grounds of the studio, each candle is individually created-No assembly line here. Each candle is a unique work of art, and each is signed by the artist.

1.Whether it's for personalized unity candles, custom wedding candles or otherwise, Heather Candles begin with sowing special varieties of wildflower seeds chosen for color, size and pressing characteristics. Pansies are chosen for color and size. Trees and shrubbery have been planted for their contributions to the designs of these beautiful candles.
3. The flowers and leaves used are gathered, pressed and dried, then stored in telephone books to await use in the creation of the candles. Customers, upon asking about "all the telephone books," are delighted with the utilitarian use of hundreds of recycled telephone books
4. Candle cores are hand-poured into metal molds. Heather Candles are made from a special recipe of candle waxes developed from many years of experience to give the highest quality candle possible and a candle that burns down the center, allowing the beautiful designs to remain intact on the surface as the candle glows from within. When the candles are cool some are wicked and some are drilled out to house a votive insert.
5. With the cores completed, the artists then decorate by embedding the florals individually into a coating of pure beeswax. Every candle is hand-painted and designed individually-each is unique, and each is beautifully artistic.
6. As the candles burn, the designs are silhouetted by a soft glow from within. Shown here is a selection of our 4 x 6 votive candles, which have a hollow center and come with a votive glass or liquid paraffin insert.
